We made a work trip to Switzerland and Germany this month. Zurich & Oerlikon in Switzerland, and Lake Tegernsee, Kempten, and Munich in Germany. I'm not sure there is a better hotel than the Sofitel in Munich, and I'm not sure there is a worse one than the Airport Holiday Inn Express in Zurich (pass on that one.)
People were for the most part friendly, although we did have several unsolicited conversations about being from the US at the moment, and a couple cases where we were pretty sure it impacted the service we received. That's unfortunate. I've traveled all my life, and loved it. Now when my runway is shorter, I am personally impacted by the behavior of someone who does not represent me. Or for that matter, the majority of Americans.
